Notes
The gourd was grown by Theo Schoon, who was a neighbour to the McCahons in the 1960s in Grey Lynn. Schoon produced a large number of decorated gourds, himself. The decoration here is similar in style to that used on the tables for the Auckland City Art Gallery café.
